2022 Fall Guide- Through the Decades

Pleasant Valley Recreation and Park District

Pleasant Valley Recreation & Park is celebrating 60 years of service! We are so proud to have been part of the city of Camarillo for so many years and we look forward to the next 60!

School is about to start and our Fall guide is officially out. We have a great selection of classes and events planned through December. Fall will be full of Halloween fun for the whole family including the dogs!

For Halloween, there will be many chances to dress up and satisfy your sweet tooth.

Fall Events
Upcoming events!

Trail or Treat- October 22nd

Trail or treat will be the perfect way to go "trick or treating," This event will be at Camarillo Grove Park. The event will also include food trucks, vendors, nature presentations, a rock-climbing wall, and free crafts. Bring the whole family and enjoy a nice walk among nature! Answering nature-related questions and trivia will earn you "trail treats" along the way. Nature and Halloween-related items will be given for correct answers, no food or candy will be given. Register online to participate in the hike. Event is open to the public

Howl-O-Ween- October 29th

Our next Halloween event will be one for the Dogs! Dress up your pup for Howl-O-Ween at Mission Oaks Dog Park. Not only will everyone enjoy the pups all dressed up, but we will have a costume contest, pet vendors, raffles, and Food Trucks. If that wasn’t enough Foundation for the Parks is offering Pup Pics for the Parks. Dog owners can get a professional portrait of their dog for $10.

Halloween in the Park- October 31st

Finally, Halloween in the Park will be our premier Trick or Treat opportunity for the kids on Halloween day. At Halloween in the Park, we are adding a Trick or Treat Booth contest. Register to decorate your own booth and hand out candy to the kids. This would be a great way for small businesses to get personal with their community. Why not make little baggies with pre-packaged and/or small toys with your business card?

Painting with a Twist- November 10th

Not that we are skipping Thanksgiving or anything but, in November we'll have our Painting with a Twist Fundraiser and Letters to Santa. Painting with a Twist will be hosting us and we will be painting a holiday wreath. This will be a great date night or friend's night. Come on out and support the parks!

Letters to Santa- November 28th

We will be bringing out our big red mailbox for kids to send their letters to Santa. Not only is this an adorable photo op and memory to help get you and your little one into the holiday spirit, but we have also arranged for your letters to get a response from Santa himself!

Moving on to December events; we start off with Cookies with the Clauses + Winter Wonderland of Wreaths fundraiser.

Cookies with the Clauses & Winter Wonderland of Wreaths- December 3rd

This event is going to be a blast for families. So much to do. Decorate cookies, get professional photos with the Clauses, crafts, listen to live music, and make final bids on winter wreaths.

Christmas Parade

Christmas Parade & Santa’s Village- December 10th

This will be our last event of 2022 and will be full of fun and cheer. We will have the annual Camarillo Christmas Parade starting at Las Posas Rd. and Temple Ave. and ending at the Community Center. Then experience Santa’s Village! There will be shopping, live music, food trucks, free activities, and Santa for photos!
