Carmenita Park Playground Demolition and Installation

The adopted Fiscal Year 2025-2026 Capital Improvement Budget allocated $250,000 for the purchase and installation of a new playground at Carmenita Park. Carmenita Park was developed in July 2000 as a one-acre neighborhood park that includes a half-court basketball court, barbecue, picnic benches, small turf area, and a playground originally designed for ages 2-5 years old.
Scope of Work
Staff released a Request For Proposal (RFP) for demolition and installation on October 2, 2025, and held a mandatory job walk on October 21, 2025. Bids were due November 3, 2025, and four contractors submitted bids. The lowest responsible bid was received from Central Coast Playgrounds for an amount of $72,000.
Option No. 1 playground was purchased from GameTime for $166,656.65 and the demolition and installation will be $72,000 for a total of $238,656.65.
