Dress up your dog fur children in a fun Halloween costume and bring them to an event just for them! Come meet pet vendors and learn about services offered in the area, shop at booths, and enjoy treats. There will be costume contests for big and little dogs and activities for them to enjoy while strolling in the dog park. Watch a show by Disc Dogs and be entertained on how-to-train your dogs to be a disc dog.
Well-behaved dogs on non-retractable leashes are welcome to attend.

Leashed Event
Dogs are to be kept on a leash with a leash length not exceeding 6 feet and owners must follow dog park rules and regulations.
Mission Oaks Dog Park is an off-leash dog park, but for special events such as Howl-O-Ween, leashs are required during the hours of 8:30am-2pm on October 28, 2023 for the duration of the event.
Dogs may be off-leash in the designated area to perform in the best trick contest and must be back on a leash immediately following their trick.
Schedule of Events:
10:00am—Event Begins
10:30am—Disc Dogs Demo
11:00am—Costume Contest Start
12:00pm—Best Trick Contest
12:30pm—Musical Plates (Musical Chairs for our 4-legged friends)
1:00pm—Event Ends
Costume Contest Categories:
- Most Original
- Best in Show
- Best Pack (Group)
Judging:
- Costume contest entries will be pre-judged at the event with narrowing down to top 10 for each category. Top 10 will compete for the winning spot based on crowd cheering. Judges will award the winner and runner up for each category.
Prizes:
Prizes will be announced throughout the event.
Show by Disc Dogs
High-energy family show lasting approximately 20-30 minutes long,
featuring 5-7 dog/handler teams that demonstrate: how-to-train your dog to be a
disc dog, freestyle routines to music and a disc dog race. 10-15 minute "pat & chat" where the audience can meet some of the teams up close and ask questions.
Onsite Dog Adoptions:
Ventura County Animal Services (VCAS) will be in attendance with 6-8 adoptable dogs!
