Become a Lifeguard! 

We hire lifeguards and swim instructors throughout the year, and seasonally for the Summer. If you are 15+ years old and are interested in working with us, follow the steps below:

  1. Enroll in a Lifeguard Training Class we offer. Upon successful completion, you will be certified as an American Red Cross Lifeguard with Title 22.  This course is a blended learning course, 7-10 hours of online learning will be required.  This course also includes CPR/AED/First Aid, do not register for a separate course.
  • PRE-REQUISITE: Must be able to swim a 300 continuously (freestyle and breast stroke must be demonstrated), tread water for 2 minutes without the use of hands, and retrieve a 10lb brick from depth of 10ft and return it to the sid of the pool.

Hire Process
  1. Complete an employment application.
  2. Upon review of employment application, a tryout will be scheduled with an interview immediately following successful tryout. 
    • Certifications are not necessary to apply and attend a tryout, but job offers will be conditional on the completion of American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification course.
    • UPCOMING TRYOUT DATES: Scheduled upon application submission.
    • Arrive ready to tryout and bring a change of clothes for an interview following your tryout.
  3. Job Offers Announced the week following Tryout/Interviews.  An Employment Letter will be sent and will need to be accepted or denied by the candidate.
  4. Pre-Employment Screening will follow consisting of:
    • DOJ Fingerprinting
    • Drug Screening and TB Screening.
  5. Employment Paperwork will consist of
    • Tax documents, identity berification, work permits, etc.
  6. START WORKING!

 Please note, the hiring process can take up to 6 weeks.
