Submitted Questions & Answers
| Date | Question | Answer |
|---|---|---|
| 10/21/25 | When was the roof last replaced? | The roof was last replaced in 1994 and is an asphalt material. |
| 10/21/25 | What about outside improvements? | The proposal requests improvements to the entire building itself. We would expect exterior BUILDING and attached entry walkways and landings to be included. E.g. roof, windows, doors, gutters, entry awnings attached to doorways, back patio facing the field, etc. If, for rendering purposes you wanted or need to make changes to the surroundings, we’re not opposed to alterations, but they are elective to include. We would request in the final presentation by the awarded contractor to indicate to our Board what improvements on the renderings are not included in the ROM and would need or are suggested to be evaluated further (e.g. removing or altering the BBQ pit/location, moving/altering the trash enclosures, parking lot configurations not affected by building design changes, necessary ADA walkways/paths of travel that lead to connected walkways into the building, etc.). |
| 10/17/25 | Is there a master plan for Freedom Park? | The last envisioning or Master Plan for Freedom Park was completed in 2011 and the rendering is listed under the Bid documents section above. |
| 10/17/25 | What are the insurance requirements? | Insurance Requirements are listed under the Bid documents above. |
| 10/17/25 | What is the source of budget funding? | The funding is out of Fund 70—Capital Projects Fund which is primarily funded through tax apportionment revenue. |
| 10/17/25 | Do we need to sign up with the City or District as responders to the RFP? | There is a mandatory pre-submittal site walk at 9am at the Center on Tuesday, October 21st. We’ll require signing in at the meeting and have a sheet to sign in. PVRPD is an independent special district and not a part of the City of Camarillo. |
| 10/17/25 | Is a facilities condition assessment (structural, electrical, mechanical) available? | No, there is not. This is the first step we (have) are taking to evaluate the building. The only assessment available is the results for ADA compliance as a part of the District’s 2022 ADA Transition Plan. |
| 10/17/25 | Are detailed record plans (floor plans, structural, electrical, mechanical) of the building available? | Not currently, however, we are working with the Naval Base, the History Museum, and Ventura County to try to track down the as-builts. The building was built in the 1950’s and was deeded over to the District in 1976. |
| 10/6/25 | What is the estimated construction budget? | There is currently no budget allocations for construction. This project is strictly for architectural services for design creation of three options for future remodel/redesign of the facility. |
